Join us on an unforgettable evening under the polar night sky, exploring the nordic wilderness and looking for northern lights.
This is a beginner friendly tour where your group can choose between nordic skis, snowshoes or ski touring equipment. We will hike for 3-4 hours into the beautiful nature and wilderness of the North, explore the forest with the glittering snow landscape, and perhaps also the mountains. Hopefully the northern lights will light up the evening sky above us.
For private groups, couples and families
This tour is perfect for a family or a couple or group who would love an easy tour focusing on the beauty of nature and a nice adventurous hike. On this evening adventure you will have an active and memorable outing in the dark. In the light of your head torch or maybe just the bright moon, the world will feel like a dream, and our senses sharpen.
Hiking through our northern nature
Our guide will take you out to our scenic mountains surrounding Tromsø, away from the light pollution of the city. Through the small belt of forest along the fjord and up into the arctic scenery where we will have perfect views to the sky, the mountains, the fjords, the moon and the stars. And if we are lucky, lady Aurora will dance for us in her green, purple and red dress.
We spend a few hours touring into nature, and along our hike we stop to enjoy a bonfire, the beautiful views and a warm drink. After some stories around the fire and time for taking pictures, we hike back towards the car and the city.
Snowshoeing:
This option is the most accessible for all ages and experience levels. With snowshoes we move easily through the rolling hills and small forests, up to the tree line and perhaps above. You don’t need any prior experience with skiing or snow to join this option, but you need to be ready for a few hours of outdoor activity. Kids from 6 years and older are welcome.
Your experience consist off:
Taxi / transport to a nearby mountain and wilderness area.
Introduction to snowshoeing, cross country skiing or ski touring.
A beginner friendly adventure in the dark with headlamps on. In gentle, easy terrain.
Leisurely pace with breaks for photos and refreshments.

Not inclusive: Winter clothes and ski /snowshoeing equipment. This must be rented at the rental shop Tromsø Outdoor prior the tour,
You meet your guide at Tromsø Outdoor rental shop at 16.30pm. At the address to Tromsø Outdoor is Fredrik Langes Gate 14, 9008 Tromsø.
You will pick up your pre-ordered rental equipment at 16.30pm at the desk. The taxi to the mountains departs at 17.00pm.
Booking
Booking and prices is per group. Please choose only 1x of the booking option below, according to how many people you are in your group (1-2, 3-4, 5-6 or 7-8 persons).
When booking this tour, your group can choose between either snowshoes, Nordic skis and ski touring equipment. The maximum group size is 8 people.
Dates and availability
This trip can be booked every day throughout the northern light season, from November to March.

What is included:
Guidance and instruction from a certified guide
Skiing in easy, gentle terrain.
Transport from Tromsø to and from the mountains
Hot drinks around the bonfire
An evening suitable for families and beginner to intermediate skiers.
4-5 hours total, including guiding and driving time.
What is not included:
Equipment is not included and must be rented online in advance at www.tromsooutdoor.com.
Choose ski touring package with skins, boots, skis and poles, and get 15% off with the code "tromsoskiguides".Food and snacks are not included and you must bring this yourself as needed.
Layers of warm outdoor clothes and extra mittens is not included and you must bring this with you.
Each participant should wear the following clothes and bring the following gear when we meet:
Windproof and waterproof shell jacket and pants or ski jacket/pant.
Mid-layer fleece / Whool mid layer
Wool or synthetic fiber base layer
Wool socks
Two pairs of gloves (1 extra pair in backpack)
Beanie
Headlamp (we got extra if you don't have your own)
Cold drink
Snacks and adequate food for a 3-4 hour excursion
Backpack 30-40 liter.
IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, always pack an additional down jacket or down vest for each participant, along with a beanie and two pairs of mittens / ski gloves.

Responsibility:
As a guest, you have a co-responsibility for following the instructions and recommendations of the guide. In addition, you are obliged by Norwegian law to tell the guide or Tromsø Ski Guides if you have any injuries or medical conditions that may affect the trip as a whole.
Insurance:
Tromsø Ski Guides has liability insurance for our guides. We do not offer travel insurance, cancellation insurance or accident insurance to our guests. All guests must purchase their own travel and accident insurance through their own insurance agency.
Cancelation policy:
All prices includes a 5% administration fee, this is non-refundable. For the remaining trip price, the following terms for refund applies in case of a cancellation. If you cancel the trip:
More than 45 days before: Full refund of the trip price to your account or as a TSG gift card (without the non-refundable 5% admin fee).
30-45 days before: 50% refund of the trip price to your account or as a TSG gift card.
10-30 days before: 25% refund of the trip price to your account or as a TSG gift card.
Less than 10 days before & no-show: No refund.
In case of very bad weather or conditions, we will do our very best to offer a different and better area for our ski adventure. In case of exceptionally bad weather, where the guide has to cancel the tour, you will have a full refund minus the 5% admin fee.
