About Us

Lena is an internationally certified IFMGA/IVBV/UIAGM mountain guide via Nortind. She has guided in Norway and Europe since 2002, both during the summer and winter season, on snow, glaciers, ice and rock. She has 6 years of teaching experience from the outdoor education bachelor program offered by the College of Sogndal. She continued with her PhD on risk and safety in outdoor education in upper secondary schools. She lives in Tromsøya with her two children and is neighbors with Merrick and family.

Merrick is a multi talented athlete who guides on randonee, telemark and split-board and is 42 years young. She has been guiding for over 20 years. She finished her ski guide education via Nortind (skivegleder). Growing up in Alaska, she became the youngest to summit Denali (N. America’s highest mtn) at 12 yo, and began assistant guiding at 14 yo. Merrick moved to Norway in 2009 and has been ski guiding since 2011 in Norway. Additionally, she has guided summer and winter for Exum Mountain Guides in Wyoming. She has two children and loves keeping their lifestyle outdoors playful and safe. She is sponsored by Norrøna, SGN skis, Furberg snowboards, and Petzl.

Edda is a NF-certified avalanche instructor (level 1). She grew up in Austria with skis on her feet, moved to Norway in 2014 and is now based in beautiful Ersfjorden (Kvaløya). She is an active member of the avalanche instructor group of DNT Fjellsport Troms. Edda provides course participants the necessary skills to play safely in the mountains during winter time. Edda teaches courses in both English and Norwegian.

Agathe is our marketing coordinator. Soon to be certified as a NF Avalanche instructor, Agathe works as a freelancer in the outdoor industry in Tromsø, and can help you in many ways! Book her as a photographer for your ski trip with us, get her help to plan your trip in Northern Norway, or get her guide book “Find your Norway” which is a rich source of information if you want to explore the Arctic. Thomas, French IFMGA mountain guide living in the Arctic, will be the lead local guide in Lyngen for Tromsø Ski Guides! His unique set of experience, knowledge, and mindset will make you enjoy the beautiful and demanding mountains of Lyngen while staying safe and respecting nature.

Thomas has been working as a guide since 2006, and moved to the Arctic after falling in love with Lyngen many years ago. When guiding, Thomas wants to make you experience the alpine character, glaciers, deep valleys, harsh climate, unique landscapes, and quality of snow of Lyngen, and will constantly adapt to the demanding nature of these mountains in order to give you a safe experience.

Bård Helge is a born and raised Norwegian. He is a 37 year old skiguide with a background from the Norwegian army, ski instructing and expedition leadership in Svalbard, Greenland and Antarctica. He has been living in Tromsø with his family of 4 the last few years. He works as fulltime ski guide for TSG since 2022/2023 season. He loves spending the whole winter guiding in Tromsø and Lyngen and thus is ready for another great season with TSG.

Ellinor is from the southern part of Norway, but has been based in Tromsø the last 12 years. She is under qualification as an IFMGA Mountain Guide in the Norwegian qualification system Nortind. She is also a NF-certified climbing instructor since 2011 and is active in the alpine rescue group in Tromsø. She has a University Degree in Medicine and works part time as a general practitioner. She is 36 yo, and is a mother of a 6 months old girl.
