This course provides you with the basic knowledge on how to handle an avalanche situation. It covers the fundamental skills to plan and carry out backcountry ski tours that cross potential avalanche terrain.

This is the next step after taking the basic avalanche course. We will dive deeper into the understanding of avalanche formation. We look at snow crystal transformation and how that relates to snow stability. These topics are not or only briefly mentioned in a basic avalanche course.

Customized Avalanche course for groups. The next level after completing the Basic Avalanche Course where you gain a deeper understanding of avalanche survival. Learn more about snow metamorphosis, avalanche problems, stability tests and buddy rescue.

Snow metamorphosis and stability is a quite complex topic. Weather events, time and exposure can either create weak layers or help stabilizing the snowpack.
This workshop will focus on the practices how to assess the snowpack and stability.

There are inherent risks with skiing steeper terrain: crossing an avalanche trigger zone, being in an avalanche path, terrain traps, and no-fall zones.
