Film & planning- 2 hours Friday evening
Freeride clinic- 7 hours in the day in the mountains
(Tele, rando skis & Splitboard welcome)

Group size 5-8

Clinic will only happen if minimum of 10 sign up. Participants must have basic avalanche training and own touring/avalanche gear. Previous experiences of at least 15 Splitboard/rando trips and enjoy skiing off-piste runs at a ski hill.

Focus

Skills related towards steep skiing. Possible use of ice-axe and short rope.
Define a mini golf area to work on line assessment for safety and snow quality, use video analysis for ski performance, and define red flags for steep skiing. Focus on finding own flow and good vibes in the group.

Instructors

Nadine Wallner (b.1989) in Arlberg, Austria, is a distinguished professional freeskier, certified mountain guide, and Red Bull athlete.

Wallner achieved remarkable success in freeriding, securing back-to-back Freeride World Tour championships in 2013 and 2014. Beyond skiing, she is an accomplished rock climber, having ascended routes up to 8b/+ in both traditional and sport climbing. Her mountaineering skills are further highlighted by her certification as an IFMGA mountain guide.

Participating in a ski course led by Nadine Wallner offers a unique opportunity to learn from a world-class athlete with extensive experience in freeriding, mountaineering, and guiding. Her deep connection to the mountains and commitment to sharing her knowledge ensure an enriching and transformative experience for all participants.

Merrick Johnston (b.1983) is the youngest on Denali at 12 with her mom. She began assistant guiding at 14 for her mom, then on Denali at 18 and kept up working in the mountains ever since. She is cofounder of Tromsø Ski Guides in 2020 and has done many workshops / courses in her 20+ years as a guide. Certified as a Nortind Ski guide. Resides in Tromsø/Alaska and has two children. She will be on tele, rando, or splitboard depending on registered participants.
