Get the basic knowledge about skiing in untouched areas!
No previous backcountry skiing experience is needed, however you should be able to ski in a ski-resort.
You will get an introduction using the basic rescue gear (transceiver, shovel and probe) and practice using touring gear. We will use local mountains that do not have prepared tracks. You will learn how to efficiently go up mountains and ski safely down. If the skiing component is not of interest, we can work more with the avalanche gear and practice finding a buried person and how to get the person out of the snow. In case you do not have your own touring gear, you can rent at Tromsø Outdoors and receive 10% at the desk when mentioning you will be going out with Tromsø Ski Guides.
